Based on my experience, if you get a 5 on the AP exam, you can skip CS121. However, I think skipping CS131 is a mistake because the course structure has changed and it's not as strong as before. CS121 is okay to skip, but not CS131. The recent changes have weakened the courses, so keeping CS131 gives you a better foundation.

As a rising senior in Genetics, I want to share my perspective. Many peers who took both AP Bio and AP Chem got credit for introductory biology courses like BIOL121, 131, and 135, but not everyone was allowed to skip. Those who took those foundation courses felt they had a stronger base for the tough upper-level weed-outs like 231, 241, and 286. Something to consider.
